Privacy Policy

1. Plausible Analytics (Always Loaded, No Cookie)

We self-host Plausible Analytics to collect basic anonymous traffic statistics. Plausible is loaded on every page visit and does not use cookies.

What Plausible collects (anonymized):

• Page URL and title
• Referrer (where you came from)
• Browser type and device type
• Country-level location (approximate, not IP-precise)
• Time of visit

Plausible is not affected by the Cookie Consent Banner because it operates without cookies or persistent identifiers.

2. Google Analytics 4 (Consent-Required)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand usage patterns after you accept cookies via the Cookie Consent Banner. GA4 sets cookies and is loaded only after your explicit consent.

Events: breeding query completions, tab switches, errors — no Pal names or PII (see §11).

Opt-out: Decline via the Cookie Consent Banner, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Google's data processing is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

3. Microsoft Clarity (Consent-Required)

We use Microsoft Clarity to analyze user behavior through heatmaps and session recordings after you accept cookies via the Cookie Consent Banner.

Privacy safeguards: Clarity is configured to mask the breeding calculator's Pal selector area in recordings, so your specific Pal selections are not captured. Session recordings are loaded only after your explicit consent.

Opt-out: Decline via the Cookie Consent Banner. Microsoft's data processing is governed by Microsoft Privacy Statement.

4. Cookie Consent and Your Choices

Because the Service uses GA4 and Clarity (which set non-essential cookies), you will see a Cookie Consent Banner when you first visit.

Your choice is stored in your browser as localStorage['analyticsConsent'].

Resetting Your Choice

To change your consent preference at any time, click Reset Consent. This will automatically: clear the stored choice, delete GA4 and Clarity cookies, refresh the page, and show the banner again.

Note: Plausible is always loaded regardless of your consent choice, as it uses no cookies and collects no personal data.

5. Local Storage

The Service stores the following preferences locally in your browser using localStorage:

• Theme preference — your selected color theme (default / dark / high-contrast)
• analyticsConsent — your Cookie Consent Banner choice

This data never leaves your device, is not transmitted to our servers, and you can clear it anytime via your browser settings.

6. Feedback, Feature Suggestions and Error Reports

When you contact us via feedback@palbreed.space:

• We retain your email and the details of your message for 30 days, after which they are deleted
• This data is used solely to investigate, evaluate, and respond to your message
• We will not use your email for marketing, newsletters, or any purpose beyond your original message

7. Technical and Security Information (Cloudflare)

The Service is hosted and delivered through Cloudflare, Inc. (CDN, DNS, DDoS protection, SSL). As part of standard operations, Cloudflare may process: IP address, browser type and version, request time and date, and requested page URL.

8. Data Sources and Attribution

• tylercamp/palcalc — community-maintained open-source project (MIT License)
• Game content and Palworld-related assets are the property of Pocketpair, Inc.

9. Information We Do NOT Collect

• ❌ Require your name, email, or identity to use the tools
• ❌ Collect account registration data (no login system)
• ❌ Process payment or billing information
• ❌ Accept user-generated content or file uploads
• ❌ Engage in cross-site tracking or social media data collection
• ❌ Send your Pal selections or breeding inputs to our servers (processed entirely in your browser)
• ❌ Include Pal names, search terms, or free text in analytics events

10. Children (COPPA)

The Service is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at feedback@palbreed.space.

11. GA4 Event Data Constraints (No PII)

When you accept analytics cookies, GA4 events are sent for product improvement:

• breeding_query_completed — mode, has_result (Pal names not sent)
• reverse_lookup_completed — mode, result_count (Pal names not sent)
• cake_calculated — quantity (bucketed)
• tab_switched — from, to
• error_shown — type, mode

No Pal names, search terms, free text, or personally identifiable information is uploaded to GA4.

12. Your Rights

• Right to Know — this policy explains all data we process (§1–§11)
• Right to Delete / Access / Restrict — no user accounts; feedback emails auto-delete after 30 days; use Reset Consent to stop further collection
• Right to Opt Out — use the Cookie Consent Banner to decline GA4/Clarity; install the GA Opt-out Add-on; clear localStorage via browser settings

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the Service or applicable legal requirements change. Material changes (e.g., adding AI features, advertising, or payment processing) will be noted on the Service.
